Current personal prototype
Privacy policy
This policy describes the current personal Morning Receipt prototype, this information site, and personal planning-session inquiries. A future hosted or distributed software product will need a policy reflecting its actual operation before launch.
Data used by the prototype
Morning Receipt uses the notes and preferences entered by its owner, configured sender and recipient information, a configured weather location, selected news sources, and content-library choices. It stores receipt images, content, delivery records and selection history to support previews, delivery and repeat prevention.
Storage on the device
Configuration, personal content, receipt history and authorization files are kept on the computer running the application. The dashboard uses its configured login. The owner controls access to that device and its backups. Authorization tokens and email credentials must be kept private.
Google Drive and Calendar
When the owner enables Google archiving and grants access, Morning Receipt uploads receipt images to Google Drive and creates or updates receipt events in the selected calendar. Events may include a link and attachment reference to the Drive image.
The app requests drive.file to work with files it creates or is permitted to use, and calendar.events to maintain calendar events. Calendar events permission is broader than the one calendar selected in the app’s configuration.
When content backups are enabled, the app also uploads configuration, personal content, a database snapshot and recent or pending delivered receipts to Drive. The backup routine excludes the environment file, Google client file and authorization token file. Drive files and calendar events have the access settings of their Google account resources.
Email and other services
When email delivery is enabled, the configured email server receives the sender and recipient addresses, receipt content and attached image. The current Gmail setup uses SMTP and an app password, not permission to read messages.
The weather service receives the configured coordinates and timezone to return a forecast. News publishers receive requests for selected feeds and article pages. Optional AI news summarization sends selected article text to the configured AI service. Optional alerts send operational messages to the configured alert service.
Sharing
The personal prototype does not sell user data or use it for advertising. Receipts may be printed, emailed to the configured recipient, or stored in the owner’s Google account. If the owner configures a Drive sharing address, the app grants that address access to the corresponding receipt files. The owner also controls any sharing of calendar entries and backups.
Retention and removal
Stored receipts and account resources remain until removed by the owner or applicable configured retention rules. Backup retention can differ between the device and Drive. Turning off archiving or revoking permission does not delete previously stored files.
The owner can revoke the app’s Google access in Google Account connections, remove receipt events and Drive files, delete local data, and revoke the Gmail app password. Removing data from one location does not automatically remove copies from other locations.
This information site
These pages have no forms, account system, analytics scripts or connection to the receipt dashboard. The hosting provider may process request information, such as IP addresses, for delivery and security under its own policy. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Planning-session inquiries and payments
If you email Connor about a session, your name, email address, project details and scheduling preferences are used to reply, check fit, arrange the session and provide your written plan. Please do not send passwords, authorization tokens or payment-card details. The planning service does not access your Google account or receipt device.
Agreed sessions are invoiced through PayPal. PayPal handles the payment and may provide the seller with transaction and customer information needed for the sale. This site does not collect card or bank details. See the PayPal Privacy Statement.
Session correspondence and plans are kept as needed to provide the service and maintain necessary business records. They are not used for an email marketing list. To request access, correction or removal, email connordavidwhitney@gmail.com. Necessary transaction records may need to be retained.
Questions
This prototype is operated by its device owner, who controls its personal data and service settings. Owners can manage their data directly on their device and in their connected accounts.
